AIFF and M4A

AIFF is uncompressed, so it takes a lot of space for everyday listening. M4A with AAC gives small files that still sound good and play on Apple devices and most others.

What changes when you convert

  • M4A is lossy: the file gets much smaller and some fine detail is discarded. At high quality settings the difference is hard to notice.
