How to convert DOCX to TXT with FileFlip

  1. Select the DOCX files

In Finder or on the Desktop. One file, or a whole folder with ⌘ A.

  2. Press ⌥ F

FileFlip opens next to the selection and lists the formats it can make from DOCX. Type “TXT” to jump to it.

  3. Choose TXT and press Return

The TXT files appear next to the originals with the same names. The DOCX files stay as they are.

DOCX and TXT

Not everyone has Word, and layouts can shift when a DOCX is opened elsewhere. Plain text strips everything but the words, ready to paste, search or process anywhere.

What changes when you convert

  • All formatting, images and links are removed; only the text remains.
